September Classes

LIVING SOCIAL VOUCHER OWNERS:

Has your Living Social Voucher Expired?  We'll redeem it for its full face value through the end of the year so register now!

After the first of the year, the value you paid will still be redeemable, but the class will cost you additional dollars!

Register online for the class you have a voucher for.  Under the payment options select Living Social Voucher.

That option has a value of 0 so it won't cost you a thing. However, you will need to select a payment method.  Select Check.

It will ask you to mail a check, but you won't need to, of course.  Just bring your Living Social voucher to class.

Thanks and See you in Class!

September Classes, User Groups & Photo Shoots

  • WorkShoots Photography Club Meeting
  • Tuesday September 4  7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

CRITIQUE:  We'll critique and discuss pictures of landscapes from last month's tutorial and photo shoot.

TUTORIAL:  Beauty Photography:  The Art of Photographing Women Beautifully.  Learn how a makeup artist can transform any woman into a goddess and how you can use beauty lighting to make stunning, fashion and glamour portraits.
  • The WorkShoots Photography Club Meeting is our take on creating a "camera club" for WorkShoots members.  Members can use their monthly dues towards classes, club meetings, photo shoots and studio rental.  The club gives photographers an opportunity to network, share their work and learn about photography topics.

The group meets the 1st Tuesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Cost is one studio hour for WorkShoots Members or $35 for non-members.  Attend the meeting and that month's photo shoot is free!

Here is the agenda for the monthly meetings:

  • Tutorial Review of Last Months' Photography Topic and Assigned Subject.
  • Members submit their digital images of the assigned subject from last month's tutorial and we'll critique the images on composition, technical and impact
(just like camera club except we won't give you a score, we'll give you feedback)
  • After the critique, we'll take a refreshment break.
  • After the break, we'll have a tutorial on next month's assigned subject.
  • We'll end the meeting with networking and discussion of upcoming photo shoots including the Photo Shooters Group photo shoot two weeks later.
That photo shoot will be designed to put the new tutorial lesson into practice and help photographers get images for next months critique!

  • NEW!   WorkShoots Photography Club Photo Shoot
    Tuesday September 18  6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Shoot Topic:  Beauty Shoot:  We'll have two models and a makeup artist to make them look fabulous!  We'll help you set the beauty lighting and you can work with the model to get your high fashion images.

You've attended the WorkShoots Photography Club Meeting and learned about some aspect of photography.  Now is your opportunity in a group setting to go out and practice and perfect that technique or skill or trick.  We'll meet at WorkShoots and shoot in studio or outdoors or even meet at some other location to put our cameras to use!

These photo shoots will vary in topic and format.  Depending on the photographic technique we may be shooting still-life sets in the studio, models in or out of the studio, landscapes near WorkShoots or at a pre-determined park or other location.  We may wander around downtown and photograph people in the street and buildings and architecture.  All these shoots will be led by Lawrence Heibel, owner of WorkShoots and other experienced and helpful photographers.

The WorkShoots Photography Club Photo Shoots will be held the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Cost is one hour membership time for WorkShoots Members or $35 for non-members.  Attend the WorkShoots Photography Club meeting and you can attend the same month's photo shoot for FREE!!!

  • "Floating Coyotes Photoshop Users Group
    Monday September 10 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Photoshop Topic:  Retouching a Beauty Portrait
Lightroom Topic:  Using the Develop Module to enhance a beauty portrait

The Floating Coyotes Photoshop Users Group consists of people who are using Adobe products:  Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS and Lightroom.
The group meets the second Monday of the month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

One of the great things about a users group is its a mixture of people with little to no experience with Photoshop and long-time users.  It's a great mix for everyone to teach and/or learn about Photoshop in a club like environment.  Plus, rather than having a ton of material to learn in a typical class, learn a handful of things that will get you through until the next month when you'll learn some more new things.

The meetings feature tutorials on a Photoshop Elements, CS5 and Lightroom topic which you can suggest for upcoming months.  There will also be a 30-45 minute long Q&A portion where attendees can ask and answer questions from other group members on any topic in the Photoshop realm. We'll also have a networking portion where you can chat one on one with group members about Photoshop and Lightroom.

Members can request specific topics to be covered for upcoming meetings! Bring your laptop to follow along with monthly presentations or to get hands on help from fellow group members.
There will also be discounted classes for Floating Coyote members attending Photoshop classes at WorkShoots.

User group members will also be able to network with other members and create friendships and partnerships.
Annual membership to participate in the Floating Coyotes is $99--no membership in WorkShoots is required!
An annual membership gets you 30 hours of education a year for the price of a single 7 hour Photoshop Class!
Attend a monthly meeting for $15.  No registration required.  Just stop in!
