Business Education for the Photographer
Four Months of Classes and 8 Months of Coaching


We've designed a series of classes to take you through every step of starting your business, or
if you are in business, strengthening and growing your business.  This program was designed to
cover every aspect of the photography business---except for the photography! 

For the most well-rounded business education we recommend you attend the full program. 

Day time classes and coaching may be added if four or more persons commit to the full program during day time hours. 


December  5 and 6 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Setting up Your Business

The new tax year starts January 1 and that's a great time to launch your business and your new
pricing structure. 
Wherever you are in your business, just starting or in process, this is the class
that will get you launched or get you positioned with proper pricing, products and services. 

Learn how to organize your business and take the right business form--sole proprietor, corporation,
partnership.  Learn basic accounting, tax liabilities and record keeping for your business. 

Determine what kind of photography you are going to do in your business. Are you going to be a
full-service or boutique photography business.

PLUS, develop your prices, product and services mix.  Attend a free follow-up coaching session
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 19 to review your prices, products and services.

You'll Leave this class completely prepared to “open” your business on January 1.

January  16 and January 23 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Developing a Marketing Plan

How do you get clients?  How do you keep clients?  How do you get your name out there?

Learn a variety of ways to market your photography business and attract clients.  Learn how to develop
a plan to take you through the year with marketing promotions.  Learn where to find and develop clients
and maintain the clients you have so they keep coming back to you for pictures.  We'll cover everything
from business cards to websites to portfolios to the various advertising vehicles.

February 6 and 7  6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sales: Helping Clients to Buy

If you hate sales and seilling, this is the perfect class for you.
If you think you know how to sell, this class may give you new tools to improve your selling.
 
How do you convince a client to spend $1,200 on your photography when everyone else out there will do it for $200?
Sales isn’t necessarily about selling, but more about helping your clients to make a buying decision that benefits
them and consequently—YOU!  Learn a proven method for closing sales in the price range you want. 

You’ll learn the techniques and practice it too.

March 5  6:30 to 9:30 p.m.  Workflow: Streamlining Your Work Processes
for More Efficiency and Profit

There are only so many hours in the day.  Using them efficiently means you can have more time to do what you want to do.

Business is a process.  Learn the step by step processes to complete customer interactions from the initial meeting,
to the shoot, to the proofing and sales, to delivery to post delivery.  Use these processes to streamline
your work and make you more efficient.

 

One night, 3 hours.  $49 includes Workbook with notes and worksheets

 

April through November  3rd Monday of the month 7 to 9 p.m. 

Business Development Coaching      

 

You've gone through the program and now you're putting it all into practice.  Over the next eight months come together with other class members to share your successes and frustrations.  Learn from yours and others missteps.  Work together as colleagues to help you make your business more successful.

8 Monthly Meetings 16 hours of coaching   $199
